Fairfax City Mayor Scott Silverthorne was arrested after offering an undercover officer meth to participate in group sex with men
Fairfax City, Virginia Mayor Richard “Scott” Silverthorne, 50, blew it big time Thursday when he offered an undercover officer some meth to participate in group sex with men. Scott met the cop through a website used to arrange for casual sexual encounters between men. The two eventually agreed to meet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tysons Corner where the officer was to provide a room for group sex with men in exchange for some meth.
From The Washington Post:
At the news conference, police gave some details on the case. They said they began looking at Silverthorne after a person gave them information that he possibly involved in a dating web site to meet other men. Authorities said they believe Silverthorne had “one other relationship” with someone on the web site as well.
Police said Silverthorne agreed to meet the undercover detective at 7 p.m. Thursday at the hotel. They said Silverthorne, a supplier, and an undercover officer met at the hotel and about 2 grams of meth was brought to the exchange.
Scott’s political career may possibly have come to a screeching halt. He faces charges of meth distribution and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Scott must have some powerful allies because, even though he faces a felony distribution charge, he was released from jail Thursday night without ever having been booked.
And now we know why the Rainbow Flag has been flying at City Hall. Just kidding.
