Dr. Mark Hausknecht, 65, was George H. W. Bush's cardiologist. I say "was" because the good doctor was murdered by a man on a bicycle just before 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The doctor was bicycling to work when the shooter approached him from the front, made a turn, came back and shot him twice very near the Texas Medical Center.
Due to the proximity to the hospital there are a fair amount of cameras around. The cops are hoping for some footage and a prompt identification of the shooter. There is no known or at least publicly acknowledged motive at this time.
