DAMN, THAT WAS FAST

by Bob Walsh

I have heard of fast jury verdicts, but this one might be a record.

Back in 2013 Curnlee Howell was murdered here in San Joaquin County. He got in a dispute over a dice game. He ended up on the wrong end of a pistol.

In 2017 Lloyd Brice, 29, was indicted for the murder. He was tried for first degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is facing 53 years as a guest of the state.

The jury found him guilty. The jury was out ten MINUTES. The previous known record in San Joaquin County was six minutes, but that was for a residential burglary beef, not murder.
