The NYPD will immediately launch its internal disciplinary proceedings for the officers involved in Eric Garner’s 2014 chokehold death, a department spokesman confirmed Thursday.

The department “will immediately begin” the disciplinary process for Officer Daniel Pantaleo and Sgt. Kizzy Adonis, the spokesman said in a statement.

“The U.S. Department of Justice yesterday for the first time officially confirmed to the NYPD, to [Deputy Commissioner for Legal Matters] Larry Byrne, that there was no objection to moving forward,” the statement said. “The proceedings themselves will commence in the coming days.”

The Civilian Complaint Review Board will lead Pantaleo’s case, and the NYPD Department Advocate’s Office will head up Adonis’ case.

“The [Administrative Prosecution Unit] has been ready to prosecute Officer Panataleo and we have commenced the process of filing charges,” CCRB chair Fred Davie said.

Garner died during a July 17, 2014, struggle with Pantaleo, who had placed him in a chokehold while attempting to arrest him for selling loose cigarettes on the North Shore of Staten Island.

Pantaleo has been on desk duty since Garner’s death.

Adonis, who also was present at the scene, was on modified status until this past May, when she was returned to full duty, officials said.

The NYPD’s internal probe is too little, too late, complained Garner’s mother, Gwen Carr.

“It’s unacceptable that the NYPD is saying that only two officers will face discipline charges when many more were involved in murdering my son, trying to cover it up and other related misconduct,” Carr responded in a written statement.

“There were over 5 officers on video using force or failing to intervene as my son Eric pleaded, ‘I can’t breathe,’ 11 times,” she said.

“Some officers tried to cover up the killing by lying on the official police reports to leave out the kind of force used against him and others illegally leaked alleged information,” she added.

“It’s past time for de Blasio and the NYPD to stop playing games with my son’s death and release the names of all the officers responsible for his murder, [or who] tried to cover it up and engaged in other related misconduct, and bring disciplinary charges to fire all of them.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Trump’s Justice Department gave NYOD the go ahead? I thought the Trump Administration was pro-police, but they just threw these cops under the bus.

And Pantaleo is fucked. The cards are stacked against him because he’ll be tried by the Civilian Complaint Review Board. They’ve already found him guilty.
