A new agreement with the organizers of the Gay Pride Parade in Sacramento have decided that it is morally acceptable for LBGTQ police officers in uniform to march in the Gay Pride Parade.
The PD agreed to create an LGBTQ liaison in its outreach unit. There will also be a standing LGBTQ Citizens Advisory Committee to continually tell the P D how fucked-up they are. This will include police training that discusses the role of "implicit bias" against LGBTQ people.
A spokeshole for the LGBTQ group said, "We cannot be surprised when those for whom law enforcement has been historically and disproportionately applied are stricken with fear by the sight of a uniform nor can we be surprised when banning than unfirom doesn't bring about the deeper change we seek."
Sounds like someone who is really interested in reaching a reasonable consensus, doesn't it?

Why can't they all just get along.
You have to be interested in getting along to get along. A significant element of the LGBTQ community has no interest in getting along with the cops, until the need one.
