There was a dueling demonstrations situation in Portland, OR. on Saturday. Previously the cops have essentially ignored these things, resulting in AntiFa left-wing terrorists attacking honest citizens, destroying public and private properly and being general assholes. The cops just let it happen, possibly at the behest of the mayor. They caught a lot of heat for this especially when the mob attacked a journalist they didn't like. He ended up with a cracked noggin and a subdural hemotoma for his trouble. The cops just let it happen.
Anyway, this time around the entire Portland Police Department, all 1,000 of them, were on duty. As were a bunch of outside agencies, including federal officers of various sorts. The cops confiscated shields, metal poles and bear spray from the demonstrators (mostly from AntiFa, who also like to come out in mobs all wearing black clothing and masks so they are hard to identify from surveillance.
A few arrests were made.

I wonder if any of these punks will actually be prosecuted. Somehow I doubt it.
