In a rambling interview, Patrick Byrne said 'we are about to see the biggest scandal in American history'. He reiterated claims made in an August 11 letter that he was duped into acting on behalf of the FBI to carry out 'political espionage' into the Clinton and Trump campaigns during the 2016 election.
Byrne, who appeared on the Fox Business show wearing a mock MAGA hat with the phrase 'Make America Grateful Again', claimed he received 'fishy' orders from former FBI official Peter Strzok and said he had witnessed the espionage against Clinton and Trump.
Byrne resigned from Overstock, the company he founded, on Thursday after shares dropped by 30 per cent over just two days earlier this month. Investors were understood to have been rattled after Byrne's bombshell FBI-related press release on August 11 which also confirmed he had had a relationship with Russian agent Maria Butina.
