Crazy Bernie has just announced his new criminal justice program. Empty the prisons.
He wants to end mandatory minimums, ban private prisons, legalize weed on a federal level, outlaw "three strikes," end cash bail and flush approximately 50% of the ambulatory turds out of the prison system onto the streets.
Bernie has said that a large chunk of the prison population is incarcerated due to "health issues" rather than criminality and should be treated as such. No doubt they will be treated by single-payer federal health care, which means that they will not be effectively treated at all, presuming you buy his brand of bullshit in the first place.
