Stockton is a mix of light industry, heavy industry and ag. There are two major freeways, a major rail operation and a very nice and seriously underused which sends out a lot of air freight cargo.
There are six pallet yards here. They have suffered at least two major fires recently, neither of which seems to have been accidental.
All six yards were shut down yesterday, allegedly due to numerous uncorrected code violations. They were served with IMMEDIATE cease-and-desist orders. I have doubts that they will be able to immediately move all of their product OUT of the yards but they are prohibited from moving in any new product or materials until further notice.
