Actually, that headline is a lie. About three years ago the government in Austria seized the building, essentially to keep it from being turned into a Nazi shrine. Since then, the owner and the government have been battling over the level of compensation. The courts finally awarded the family that has owned the building for about 100 years $900,000 for the property. The government will turn it into a police station, which will not only be functional but will give the government pretty much complete control over the building.
