There have been at least eight suspected anti-Semitic attacks in the city so far this week — including a pair on four Jewish women and a threat to “shoot up” the Lubavitch World Headquarters in Brooklyn, police and sources said Friday.
The most recent incident occurred around 7 a.m. Friday when a man in his mid-40s walked into the headquarters on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights and threatened to fire some rounds before fleeing toward the subway, authorities said.
Earlier in the morning, a deranged woman assaulted three women in Crown Heights, cops said.
Tiffany Harris, 30, of Flatbush allegedly slapped and whacked the women in the face and barked “Fuck you Jews!” during the 12:40 a.m. assault at Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, cops said.
Harris fled but was nabbed soon after and charged with harassment as a hate crime, according to police.
The victims, ages 22, 26, and 31, were not seriously injured.
Harris has several prior arrests, including for criminal mischief, criminal contempt and assault, authorities said.
Around 4 p.m. Thursday, a homeless lady also attacked a 34-year-old woman who was with her 3-year-old child on Avenue U near West Fifth street in Gravesend at around 4 p.m. Thursday, cops said.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Ayana Logan, allegedly yelled out an anti-Semitic slur and then hit the mother with her bag.
“You fucking Jew, your end is coming!” Logan shouted, police sources told The Post.
Logan was arrested and charged with assault, hate crime, harassment, acting in a manner injurious to a child and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The unidentified victim was not hospitalized but received medical attention at the 62nd Precinct, cops said.
In another incident early Thursday in Borough Park, a man punched a 40-year-old Jewish man in the chin and mouth. The assailant fled, and the victim suffered a cut and swelling to his lip.
At a press conference Friday, Mayor Bill de Blasio denounced the hate crimes and called for swift justice.
“Anti-semitism is a danger to everyone. When it starts to grow, everybody is threatened,” he said. “We have to show real consequences for any acts of hate.
“No one should belittle what’s happening. We will not accept it,” Hizzoner added. “Anyone who commits a hate crime, we will find them, and we will prosecute them. No exceptions. ”
Year to date, New York City has seen a spike in hate crimes, with an 18% surge in anti-Semitic attacks, according to NYPD statistics as of Sunday.
