'Legitimatizes inequality': Tlaib and the Squad split from Democrats on two-state resolution

The four members of the House's left-wing "Squad" opposed a resolution put forward by Democrats to support a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"This resolution not only endorses an unrealistic, unattainable solution, one that Israel has made impossible, but also one that legitimatizes inequality, ethnic discrimination, and inhumane conditions," Rep. Rashida Tlaib said Friday on the House floor. The Michigan Democrat has said previously that she supports a one-state solution because two states would enforce a "separate but equal" mentality.
The resolution, which was approved on Friday, was meant as a rebuke to President Trump by Democrats, who claim the president is moving away from the two-state solution by favoring Israel. The four Squad members, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, and Tlaib, were the only four Democrats to vote "no" on the resolution.
"Israel's nation-state law, which states that only Jews have the right to self-determination, has eliminated the political rights of the Palestinian people and effectively made them second-class citizens," Tlaib said. "Separate but equal didn't work in our country, and I can't see it possible in other countries. Given our nation's history of segregation, we should recognize when such injustices are occurring. We cannot be honest brokers for peace if we refuse to use the words 'illegal occupation' by Israel. Our country and the United State Congress must condemn these undemocratic actions."
Tlaib, 43, and Omar, 38, have both been accused of making anti-Semitic comments. In July, Omar invoked the boycott of Nazi Germany while explaining why she supported boycotts of Israel. Tlaib made a similar comparison when arguing against a resolution denouncing the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel.

"The squad" gets more insane by the day. The latest quote is an outright lie.
"Israel's nation-state law, which states that only Jews have the right to self-determination, has eliminated the political rights of the Palestinian people and effectively made them second-class citizens," Israeli Arabs, who were in Israel when the country was founded, have every single right that any Jew has, as well as NOT having the responsibility of serving in the army. They vote in every election and are represented by the "joint list", which is part of the Israeli parliament, even though they support the destruction of the state. Saudi Arabia, Mexico and even the United States each have laws that limit who can become a citizen for people who were not born in the country. Is Israel racist simply because it has laws that prevent it from being destroyed? No. It is sane. The Arabs have numerous countries that are Arab and Muslim countries, most of which do not recognize Israel. The Jews simply want one Jewish country. That makes them racist?
