The
unfortunate and almost certainly unjustifiable death of Floyd George
has turned Minneapolis into a war zone. A total of five people were
shot on Wednesday night, one of them was a fatality. Of course the guy
who was shot to death was in a pawn shop that he didn't own and had no
business being in and the guy who shot him owned and operated the
pawnshop, but most people won't tell you that.
Several
stores were looted. An Auto Zone store was burned to the ground. All
the stuff in these sort of stores gives off lots of very interesting and
very dangerous fumes.
The
National Guard has been called out to try to keep a lid on things.
Unless they are willing to get unpleasant that probably won't happen.
Not
that I am recommending it, but there is something to be said for the
Mexico City P D school of riot control. You order the rioters to
disperse. Once. Then you open fire with automatic weapons with live
ammunition. They have damn few riots in Mexico City.

So the pawn shop owner was arrested for defending his property. Why weren't the cops defending the property?
The cops don't do that in Minneapolis.
Pro-active police work is over.
