YOU DON'T OFTEN GET A TELEVISED MURDER

by Bob Walsh

OK, it wasn't actually televised. It was a ZOOM meeting. Dwight Powers was on a ZOOM video-conference meeting shortly after noon in Amityville, Suffolk County NY on Thursday when his son, Thomas Scully-Powers, 32, stabbed him to death and then jumped out of a window.

Several of the "meeting" participants called the cops. The son was arrested about an hour later, treated for some glass cuts from jumping out the closed window and charged with second-degree murder.

I always hated being selected for a committee. We did video links across the state but nothing ever exciting was seen. However, one LT in another office left his camera on and everyone could here and see in his office. He was out of the office a lot.
