Ships at California ports are now waiting RECORD 17 days to unload: Supply crisis gets worse after Biden vowed to fix it

There were as many as 83 ships at anchor and in a holding pattern as of Friday night, a new record, officials said.
The nearly 17-day wait is double the wait time from two months ago.
California Governor Gavin Newsom is attempting to address the problem by doubling capacities at the state's DMV in an effort to conduct more commercial driving tests.

How do you double the capacity of the DMV? Its not like you can build more buildings or even hire more staff overnight. Of course you could open offices on Sat and Sun for commercial driving tests only and pay the overtime. Assuming the grunts would go along with it. Which they very well might. I only ever remember having one "bad" commercial driving test, and that one wasn't dangerous, just incompetent. It was the owner / operators GF.
