TEXANS REMEMBER THE ALAMO

The difference between Texas and other States

By Trey Rusk

The Battle of the Alamo on February 23, 1836 was an important event in the Texas Revolution and American History

As a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Agent, I've been stationed in several different areas of Texas and have worked U/C in most of the state.  I'm always amazed by the independent thinking people and the Texas Pride.

People from other places cannot grasp Texas Pride.  I understand this to a degree but Texans are taught in Jr. High mandatory Texas History.  It stays with you.  We Remember the Alamo, Gonzales and San Jacinto.  We also remember mistakes like joining the Confederacy which was denounced by the Father of Texas, Sam Houston.

Surrender of Santa Anna
Texas became an independent nation when Santa Anna (in white undergarment) surrendered to a wounded Sam Houston following the Battle of San Jacinto on April 22, 1836

It took Texans 20 years to build the state back to resemble what it was.  This was done by what I believe was a Blessing from God.  2 million wild cattle wandered the state.  Starving and broke Texans returned from the war and began to gather them up and hide them from Yankee Carpet Baggers.  Men left their families and homesteads to herd those cattle to rail heads in Kansas.  Hundreds of Texans died rebuilding the state and many of their descendants live among us.   This was also a time of Indian raids and Mexican Bandits.  You had to be tough to be a Texan.

Today, Texans cannot be spoon fed Bullshit.  Oh, I know of liberal strongholds such as Austin and Houston, but even those still possess some Texas fighting spirit.  The WOKE and BLM are here but they aren't flourishing.  San Antonio literally fought off Domestic Terrorists who wanted to change the history of the Alamo.  Mostly Anglos and Hispanics stood armed in front of the Alamo yelling, Come and Take It!  After the failed BLM, Anarchist movement to change history the City of San Antonio changed their plans to move the Cenotaph.

Our small city recites the Texas Pledge of Allegiance in addition to the US Pledge of Allegiance before any official meetings.  I leave you with this:  A Gun Store in Uvalde has bullet holes in the counter.  A sign reads, "On this spot, a person tried to rob this store with a knife."  "Don't Mess with Texas."

Yesterday it was announced: Longtime Democratic state Rep. Ryan Guillen of Rio Grande City is switching parties as Republicans press to make new inroads in South Texas and after redistricting made his district much more favorable to the GOP.

In another story, Chicken Shit, Anti-Gun, Criminal Record Holder Beto O'Rourk has announced his candidacy for Texas Governor.

(OK, the second story wasn't worded that way, but that's what Texans read.)
