Taking Biden to Task: Israel Unhappy With Overtures to Iran
Bennett, Lapid call White House decision to delist Iranian Revolutionary Guards as terror group an “insult to all the victims”

It’s no secret that Israel isn’t all that pleased with the new Iran nuclear deal emerging from ongoing talks in Vienna. But perhaps even more egregious in the eyes of Jerusalem are some of the overtures toward Iran that are included in the agreement.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid were particularly unhappy with reports that Washington was considering removing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from its list of terrorist organizations.
In a joint statement aimed at the Biden Administration, Bennett and Lapid warned:
“The Revolutionary Guards are a terrorist organization that has murdered thousands of people, including Americans. We have a hard time believing that the United States will remove it from the definition of a terrorist organization.
“The Iranian Revolutionary Guards are Hezbollah in Lebanon, they are Islamic Jihad in Gaza, they are the Houthis in Yemen, they are the militias in Iraq. …They kill Jews because they are Jews, Christians because they are Christians, and Muslims because they do not surrender to them,” the statement charges.
“The attempt to abolish the definition of the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization is an insult to the victims and the erasure of a documented reality, with unequivocal evidence.”
