NEITHER COLD NOR RAIN NOR DARK OF NIGHT NOR AGGRESSIVE, LARGE TURKEYS...

A couple of days ago in the Arden Arcade area of Sacramento County a USPS letter carrier beat a "large, aggressive" male turkey to death, possibly with a golf club.

There have been increasing complaints from the letter carriers and regular citizens in the area about attacks by numbers of aggressive turkeys.  The letter carriers have been using pepper spray and even mail bags against the birds.  

Postal inspectors and Fish and Wildlife officials are investigating.  Fish and Wildlife biologists have been observing the area off and on for some months and have observed numerous instances of the birds attacking people.  

Reportedly about half the neighborhood is pissed and the other half wants somebody to kill or relocate the turkeys.
