Nicole Linton, the ICU nurse who killed 6 people in horrific LA accident, claims she had mental health crisis
The accident investigation into the horrific crash in L A
county on August 4 is now more or less completed. It does not look
good for Nicole Linton, the nurse who was driving the E-Class Benz.
The
cops have determined that the car was doing at least 122 mph, and maybe
as much as 130. This was on a city street. The crash killed six
people including the fetus of one of the women killed in the crash.
Linton
is being charged with six counts of murder and six counts of vehicular
manslaughter with gross negligence. The crash involved six vehicles.
Linton
is asserting that she lost consciousness sometime before the crash for
reasons unknown. The car's data box and good quality surveillance of
the intersection indicates otherwise. Her foot was to the floor for at
least five seconds prior to the crash and the car appeared to be under
full control of the driver. The medics assert that there was no
evidence of a seizure, fainting episode or other issue. Linton is
claiming to be bipolar. She also asserts that she had been awake for
four days prior to the crash due to "stress" and not taking meds for the
bipolar condition.
Linton
was at the time employed by AMN Healthcare doing temporary contract work
for Kaiser. She was not traveling for her job at the time of the
crash.
Linton is currently
being held without bail as a flight risk and a hazard to public
safety. Her lawyer, former appeals court judge Halim Dhanidina, is
working on that.
