ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL ??

By Bob Walsh

Nicholas Gutierrez at the scene of the wrong-way Whittier crash, Nov. 16, 2022.

Nicholas Gutierrez

Alexandra Kazarian, lawyer for Nicholas Gutierrez, 22, the man who plowed into a group of LASO cadets out for their morning run six days ago, is asserting that her client fell asleep while driving to work and that was the cause of the accident.  She did not respond to questions.  A total of 25 cadets were injured.  One may die from those injuries.

Gutierrez had no alcohol or drugs in his system.  His lawyer asserts that he comes from a law enforcement family but has provided no details.  The lawyer states that he had been up for about 90 minutes at the time of the crash and had not been up especially late the previous night.

I hope they give this guy a full medical work up. You don't have to be obese to suffer from narcolepsy, but it helps.
