1 Dead, 22 Wounded in Jerusalem Bus Stop Bombings
Bombs believed to have been left in unattended bags at two different entrances to Jerusalem early Wednesday morning.
The second explosion happened less than 30 minutes later along the highway leading into the city through the Ramot neighborhood. Three people were wounded there, all lightly, and another four were treated for shock.
Police believe the bombs were left in unattended bags at each bus stop.
Israel has not experienced terrorist bombings of this type for some time, though the past year has seen 29 Israelis killed in a wave of Palestinian terror shootings, stabbings and car ramming attacks.
Wednesday’s bus stop bombings is likely to lead to an expansion of Israel’s months-long crackdown on Palestinian terror.
