On November 8 Oregon voters passed Measure 14 into law,
taking effect on December 8. The law will effectively ban all guns
sales in the state of Oregon as it creates a set of administrative and
regulatory requirements that can not be met in that timeline and which
have no mandatory date for initiation.
U.
S. District Court Judge Karin Immergut has a hearing on the matter set
for December 2. The filing was made by the Oregon Firearms Foundation,
Sherman County Sheriff Brad Lohrey and Adam Johnson, the owner of the
Coat of Arms Firearms firm. The defendants are the Governor and
Attorney General of Oregon.
The
measure, among other things, requires residents obtain a permit to
purchase a gun. The permit is a "may issue" permit and as of yet there
are no jurisdictions set up to issue any such permits. The measure also
bans "high capacity magazines", those being any holding more than ten
rounds.
Several big box retailers have already announced that they will stop selling firearms on December 8.
In the light of the Bruen decision this measure will almost certainly be found to be unconstitutional.
It
would be nice if the defendants could recover legal costs from the
state for the lawsuit, providing of course that they prevail.

By the way, that is Measure 114. Typo. My bad.
The criminals don't give a shit about any laws much less gun control in any form.
