TRAGIC STUPIDITY LEADS TO CRIMINAL CHARGES

This tragic stupidity played out in Washington DC back in May.  An 18-year old came home to shower and left his pistol, which he had purchased from "some dude" for $200 at a bus stop, laying on the bed while he showered.  His eight and nine year old brothers found the gun.  The eight-year old pointed it at his brother and pulled the trigger, shooting him in the head.  The wound was not fatal.  

The 18-year old is now being charged with first degree community endangerment for unsafe storage of the firearm.  He told his mother he bought the gun to protect himself after another sibling had been beat up at a bus stop.
