The talking heads are now saying that the formerly great
state of California is working on a way to tax the wealth of California
citizens who leave the state. It is difficult to see how this would
work, or how legal it would be.
Some
years back California tried to continue to levy an income tax on former
state employees who moved out of state. It went to the Supreme Court.
SCOTUS told CA to fuck off.
A
business show talking head mentioned yesterday that all you would have
to do is move your physical assets (i. e. automobiles, precious metal,
collectible or valuable property) out of the state first along with your
family in dribs and drabs before you leave. That would leave very
little for the greedy bastards to get their filthy paws on.

Texas has a historic surplus budget of 188 billion bucks in 2023. It looks like retirees are looking a cost of living adjustment. If my research is correct, the largest budget surplus in Texas before this year was 29 billion dollars. I will personally write Governor Greg Abbott an email thanking him for bringing new businesses to Texas. Yee-Haw!
