A mother was seriously injured
trying to protect her seven-year old son from four dogs on the
Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Land in Idaho four days ago.
The
mother was unable to fight off the dogs, two Rottweilers and two large
mixed breed dogs, and eventually just laid down over the boy.
Neither
the police nor the tribal authorities have released the identity of the
dog's owners. The dogs were put down. The mother and son lived in an
RV behind the home of the dog's owner. Presumably the people were
familiar with the dogs.
The
owner was cited for 15 violations of tribal ordinances relating to the
dogs. The Fort Hall Police, FBI, and Idaho Fish and Game are all
investigating. The matter could be prosecuted by the United States
Attorney.
