SAN QUENTIN ABOUT TO BECOME ALL WARM AND FUZZY

By Bob Walsh

A view of the San Quentin State Prison is seen at the gate during a media tour of California''s Death Row in San Quentin, California

Gavin (God I Want To Be President) Newsom, the HMFIC in California, has just announced that San Quentin prison is going to be moving to the Scandinavian pattern of warm-and-fuzzy rehabilitative community correctional facilities.  The old facility (171 years) housing 3,300 prisoners will become the largest such facility in this country.

Assuming the legislature agrees the facility will shortly become the San Quentin Rehabilitation Center.  A group of "experts", few of who seem to actually know anything about PRISONS, will spend the next 12-18 months developing the transformation plan.  This plan includes transferring death row prisoners to other facilities.

Newsome seems to believe that since Norway has only a 25% recidivism rate that their system MUST be better than ours, totally ignoring the fact that Norway is a much smaller and much more homogenous society than is California.

In 2019 Governor Newsom issued a moratorium on Capital Punishment in the state and had the execution chamber physically dismantled at San Quentin.  I am personally convinced he will commute all capital sentences in CA on his way out the door in not quite four years, unless he thinks it might interfere with his ability to be elected President.

Whenever convicts are gathered together it will not be warm and fuzzy. Dream on California.
