OK, it isn't quite that bad, but...
Burger
King has (if you can believe the press information) never closed down a
store in their 75 year history. Until now. They are joining numerous
other sit-down and fast food restaurants in getting the fuck out of
Dodge, or in this case Oakland.
Their
reasoning is that Oakland is a crime-ridden and gang-infested shit hole
and it just isn't safe for their customers or their employees to do
business there any more.
Maybe
they should change the name of the city to Wokeland. Then everybody
will love them and all the criminals will instantly become honest,
god-fearing and productive members of society. Or not.
I
was born in Oakland. We lived in the projects there until I was in
second grade. Oakland used to be a pretty solid, respectable blue
collar town. You could get get a job. You could buy a home. Starting
in the 60s it started to slide and is now so far gone if you are living
in Oakland you have to look up to find snake shit. The schools are a
sick, sad joke. City services are crappy, except maybe the fire
department. It is overrun with dangerous crazy people, druggies and
criminals, led by armies of woke dingdongs. The District Attorney is
more interested in protecting criminals than in locking them up. Half
the population is on probation or parole and the other half are illegal
aliens. They ought to just bulldoze the whole place and start over with
something useful, like maybe a land fill.
