The
Massachusetts State Police have several robots, mostly for bomb
disposal work. Among them is Roscoe, a robotic dog. They sent him into
a house in Barnstable earlier this month to look for a barricaded
suspect in a house, along with two other robots. The suspect was
located in the basement. He knocked the robot dog over twice, then shot
it a time or two, disabling its comms. He also shot a swimming pool. I
confess I am not sure why he shot the swimming pool. Maybe he thought
it was coming after him.
The cops eventually teargassed the asshole and the asshole was taken into custody.
Roscoe
went back to Boston Dynamics, the manufacturer, who are swapping him
for another robot dog. They are keeping Roscoe to study him.
