UNFORTUNATE END TO BAD DECISION MAKING CHAIN

Just some socializing at school

 

The high-school student I wrote a couple of times about recently, who jumped into the river to evade being grabbed up by school police for being involved in a minor league fist fight, was found dead yesterday in the Calaveras River near Stagg high school.  He drowned.

The river is not very wide there but there is a lot of junk in the river and swimming in street clothes is a LOT harder than one would think.

High school is way too young to die for making a stupid decision.  Or actually one of more than a few stupid decisions.  If you show up on school grounds wearing a ski mask and get involved in a fight my inclination is that you went there with the intent of getting involved in a fight.  That isn't how school is supposed to work.
