Governor Jay Inslee in the state of Washington has just signed several new anti-gun laws there.
HB
2118 requires that gun dealers run annual background checks on
employees and maintain a 24/7/365 surveillance system as well as other
specified security requirements. They also must maintain a $1 million
general liability policy which small and medium-size retailers will be
unable to afford.
HB1903 requires that gun owners report the loss or theft of a gun within 24 hours. The requirement now is five days.
SB5444 prohibits the carrying of firearms in public libraries, zoos, aquariums or transit facilities without a carry permit.
HB2021
permits the State Patrol to destroy confiscated firearms and permits
police and sheriffs to destroy guns obtained thru buyback programs.
Also signed was a bill that refuses permission to possess firearms to persons declared incompetent to stand trial.
These laws are pretty much certain to be challenged in court, as have earlier laws, including an AR-15 ban.
Much
of the geographic area of Washington is actually pretty conservative,
but the population base around Seattle and Tacoma is made up of a pack
of uber-liberal psychopaths. That is where the votes are.
