Two teenagers were murdered in Stockton in a four day period over this past weekend.
In
the first one the cops responded to a "person down" call and came by to
do a welfare check. The found an 18-year old female dead on the 4100
block of Logan Lane in the pre-dawn hours of Friday. Her name was
Christy Patterson. A second woman, 20-years old, was found near-by with
gunshot wounds. She was taken to the hospital and appears likely to
survive.
The second one
went down at about 9 p.m. on the 8100 block of Palisades Drive on
Sunday night. The local constabulary responded to a shots fired call
and found a 16-year old male down at the scene. He was taken to the
hospital where he died. I am frankly surprised the cops showed up.
They don't usually respond to shots fired calls unless there is
something further to go on.
These
are homicides 10 and 11 for Stockton so far this year. Less than one
per week on average. So far, so good. Except for the poor bastards
that got shot.
