Some passengers were able to jump from one of the planes in the 1977 Tenerife Airport collision that killed 583 people in the worst aircraft disaster ever
There was as ground collision between two aircraft at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Thursday.
The
planes bumped wingtips fairly forcefully. One was maneuvering for
departure, one was being pushed back from the gate. Both were A320
Airbus aircraft. There were a total of 287 on board both aircraft.
Nobody was injured. Both aircraft returned to their gates and the
passengers were disembarked. Both were Delta flights.
Ground
collisions can be nasty. The worst aircraft disaster in history was a
ground collision between two 747 aircraft on Tenerife in 1977. There
were 583 fatalities and fewer than 20 survivors. Ground collisions
ain't no joke.
