Regular readers will remember a while back I wrote about
Alisa Buckley, the Chief Sergeant at Arms of the CA State Assembly. She
has now been on paid administrative leave for over a month and NOBODY
is talking.
Her position is filled by election by the members of the assembly and is not civil service.
The
assembly rules committee just hired a private consulting firm (CPS HR
CONSULTING) to "look into" the situation within the Sgt. at Arms
office. I am guessing they took this step as it will be much easier
legally to keep the details of the investigation quiet.
Maybe
it's just me but I can't help but think that if the Chief had been a
white male the whole planet would know by now what the hell is going
on.
The office has existed
since December 1849 making it one of the oldest law enforcement
organizations in the state. They supply both security and
administrative support for members of the assembly. The organization
consists of about 40 peace officers and various other ancillary and
support personnel.
