Vista Outdoors owns three of the four major producers of primers for small-arms ammunition in this country. They were preparing to sell this business to CZ (which also recently purchased Colt Firearms). CZ is based in eastern Europe.
This morning a hold was put on the deal when the DOJ announced an anti-trust investigation into the proposed sale.
Vista has now reactivated some feelers with MNC Capital out of Canada to purchase that end of the business.
This is one of those things that may be a nothingburger, but....... It is kind of like the significant purchases of real estate by Chinese companies near major U S military installations. It just makes me uneasy. (Saudi Arabia also owns a lot of land near U S bases, but most of it seems to be in legit agricultural production. They grow their own food OVER HERE and ship it home.)
