WHAT IF

The first presidential debate will take place in ten days, probably-maybe.  I still think there is a very realistic chance that they will not be able to get enough Adderall to keep Joe semi-vertical and semi-functional and they will pull him out at the last minute, citing some sort of emergency, real or imagined.  

Let us, however, assume that Joe still believes his own bullshit and still remembers his excellent showing in the first presidential debate four years ago and it goes on and Joe has several deer-in-the-headlights moments.  One respectable poll released today shows Joe down 12 %.  Does that matter?  I think not, at least to Joe.  I truly think he believes that ONLY he can beat the force of evil incarnate that is Donald Trump.  He has, after all, sort-of beat Trump once before.  With the help of a world-wide pandemic and creative election procedure alteration.  Biden spent much of the time hiding out in the White House.  He has in fact spent about 40% of his time "on vacation" in one location or another, plus a fair amount of time out of the country and therefore "unavailable" for overtly political activity.  He is doing a lot of fund raising but very little answering of questions.

My (limited) understanding of the law is that Biden has the votes.  Unless he specifically releases his delegates, dies or is declared incompetent he will be the Democrat-Socialist candidate for President.  The autistic hyena, Kamala Harris, will be his stand-in because politically he can't get rid of her.  His peeps are no doubt pumping him up and telling him how fucking wonderful he is.  He is possibly together enough he knows that, if Trump becomes president, he and his immediately family may very well be in legal trouble over his rampant, in-your-face corruption.  In another four years he will be essentially immune due to mental decline.  He is (IMHO) at state 4 or possibly even stage 5 dementia right now.

What if (here it comes) Joe bombs the debate big time.  Even his family see the light and hope that maybe they can get somebody in who will beat Trump and continue to insulate them from the IRS and the DOJ.  Who would it be?  Certainly not Kamala.  Maybe Mayor Pete.  Maybe Gavin Newsom.  Maybe Hillary.  I still think that Michelle Obama is completely likely.  I believe that she does not want to RUN for President.  I don't believe that she would turn down the opportunity to be handed the job on a silver platter.  Could they even convince Joe to step down?  That is the trouble with a good propaganda campaign.  If you start believing your own bullshit you may believe that, no mater how much of a wreck you are, you are STILL THE MAN.

In eleven days we will have a better idea of which way the wind is going to blow.  It would be GREAT to watch Biden crash and burn, but I am not counting on that to happen.  Personally I think the ideal situation would be that, about half-way between the Democrat-Socialist national convention and the actual election Joe becomes clearly disabled but does not die.  The legal fight would be a sight to behold.
