The population of Stockton is about 325,000. This is not
quite half the population of San Joaquin County. The city budget
approved for next fiscal year is not quite $1 billion, $956 million to
be precise. The vote was 6-0 with one absent. For a city that was
actually bankrupt 12 years ago that isn't too horrible.
They even approved the hire of two more animal control officers and are expanding it's motor patrol and bicycle divisions.
The city is also budgeting for 27 "large scale" homeless camp cleanups in the next fiscal year, about one every two weeks.

Sounds like it's getting better in Stockton. (USA)
