Iran-Israel War: Tensions have been brewing between Israel and Iran for a very long time, especially since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. And they have taken an uglier turn since the October 7 attacks on Israel by Palestinian militia Hamas.
The attacks were followed by Iran joining in the conflict after Israel allegedly bombed its consulate in Damascus, Syria. Iran retaliated with a direct drone and missile attack. After that, Iran launched the second direct attack on Israel.
Since then, Israel has been looking to exact a revenge from Iran.
Israel has been preparing to attack Iran for 20 years
On October 1, about 200 missiles were fired by Iran towards Israel which reportedly caused a considerable damage. It is a given that the Jewish state will hit back at the Persian nation and amid this, it has been said that Israel has been preparing to attack Iran for the last 20 years. And for this, it has developed special weapons.
Israel’s powerful air force with F-15, F-35
On 20 July 2024, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched an attack on Hudaydah Port in Al Hudaydah, Yemen, after a Houthi unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crashed into an apartment building in Tel Aviv, Israel, killing one civilian.
In retaliation, Israel directly attacked Yemen using F-15 and F-35 fighters along with Boeing 707 jets for aerial refuelling. It was a massive attack considering that it involved targets 1,700 kilometers from Israel, approximately 200 kilometers farther than Tehran, showcasing the extended reach of Israeli military operations.
How prepared is Iran?
Attacking Iran will not be easy for Israel. The reason for this is also clear that there is a lot of land distance between Israel and Iran. Iran’s nuclear installations and ballistic missile bases are safe deep inside the ground. Also, Iran claims that it has its own designed air defense system which is similar to the Russia’s S-300 anti-missile system.
The system has not yet been tested, but Iran claims that it is fully prepared to face Israeli missiles. The special thing is that Iran also has a fleet of Russian made MiG-29 and US F-14 fighter aircraft. It is a different matter that both of these fighters have become obsolete.
Israel made modification to American weapons
It is said that Israel has made many modifications and improved the American weapons it has, making them more dangerous for the enemy. Reports say that Israel has been enhancing its arsenal for the last 20 years with Iran in focus.
Israel is said to have acquired the ability to hit targets up to 2000 kilometers away. This is a big deal in the context of Iran. For this, Israel has prepared F 15I Squadron and F 16I Soufa Squadron. Only the USA and Russia have this capability.
According to some reports, Israel has made such changes in the F-35 jet that its fuel tank can be separated and at the same time these fighters will cannot be traced with the radar.
Lethal Israeli missiles
Israel has long-range missiles. Israel has also prepared missiles that can be released from fighter jets to targets. These are supersonic missiles. This gives the enemy very limited time to prepare to intercept. Also, the chances of hitting their target are more.
The deadly Rampage Missile
Israel’s Rampage missile was first designed to hit targets from the ground in the sky but later it was prepared to hit targets on the ground from aircraft. This type of missile is considered very effective for attacking Iran. They can be used to hit targets from any fighter jet.
ROCKS Missile
ROCKS is an autonomous extended stand-off range air-to-surface missile developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems designed to engage high-value stationary and relocatable targets. The missile offers several key features, such as high accuracy, day and night operation in all weather conditions, and resistance to electronic jamming. It is equipped with either a penetration or blast fragmentation warhead and can be deployed well outside of enemy air defense coverage.
The ROCKS can be launched from an F-16 or F-35.
Elbit bunker buster
Apart from this, Israel also has a bunker busting bomb called Elbit. It is said that this missile is capable of penetrating concrete up to 4 meters. These can be fitted with F-15I jet.
Apart from this, Israel also has a bunker busting Popeye turbo cruise missile which has a range of up to 1500 kilometers. It can be launched from Israeli submarines.
Israel, armed with such dangerous weapons, is waiting for the right time to attack Iran. All weapons have been kept in ready mode.
