Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price are the first members of their respective offices to be recalled.
The vote counting is not finished in Alameda County (my old stomping
grounds) but it does appear that for Alameda County District Attorney
Pamela Price and Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao are going the same way the L.
A. D. A. George Gascon just did, that is down the toilet. The vote is
running about 2-1 in favor of throwing both of them out. It is a fate
they both richly deserve. Perhaps they will then get a D. A. who is
actually more interested in putting criminals in jail rather than
getting them out and a mayor who is less interested in feathering her
personal nest than in taking care of business.
