Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch has weeded out several top brass at the Internal Affairs bureau
Dozens of top New York Police Department cops have been ousted a week after their former chief was accused of trading sexual favors for overtime.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch has weeded out several top brass at the Internal Affairs bureau, including Deputy Chief Chris Morello, the New York Post reports.
It comes after explosive allegations emerged about Chief Jeffrey Maddrey made by his subordinate Lieutenant Quathisha Epps, who accused him of predatory sexual behavior.
Chief of Internal Affairs Miguel Iglesias was ejected on the same day the expose dropped.
But documents reviewed by the Post further reveal that Inspector Joseph Profeta, who was head of IAB's group dedicated to investigating allegations against NYPD captains and above, was relocated to Patrol Borough Brooklyn North.
Meanwhile IAB Special Opps Inspector Michael Ricciardi has been packed off to Patrol Borough Manhattan North.
Another 12 IAB officers ranging in rank from lieutenants to sergeants were also sent to distant patrol areas.
Five detectives within Maddrey's office and a police officer were pushed out from Maddrey's office and sent to walk the beat in housing projects, according to the orders.

Deputy Chief Chris Morello is among those ousted from the Internal Affairs Bureau amid the fallout from Epps' allegations
'Tisch means business,' a high-ranking source told the outlet. 'She's cleaning up the mess and putting the department back on track.'
The cleaning-house comes in the wake of the bombshell allegations by Epps, who claimed she was granted overtime totaling $400,000 in exchange for sordid sexual favors.
'He was always asking me to kiss his penis,' she said, adding that the demands allegedly included sex in NYPD headquarters.
Epps and her lawyer Eric Sanders said they planned to file a notice of claim with the city comptroller outlining her allegations.
She had worked for Maddrey as she moved up the ranks in the force, from Chief of Housing to Chief of Patrol.
She said that his sexual demands started in June 2023 when he landed the top job as Chief of Department.
Epps added that Maddrey was aware she was having financial problems and allegedly used this to his advantage.

Epps claimed she and Maddrey had sexual intercourse ten times after their initial interaction. Maddrey started being generous with overtime a few years after, she said
According to her, as she tried to get away from him, her high overtime earners were outed in a list.
On Monday, it was revealed she had earned more than $400,000 in the fiscal year 2024, which included $204,000 in overtime for a total of 1,626 hours in the year.
She filed for retirement after being outed over the eye-watering sums, and was then suspended.
Maddrey's lawyer Larry Lambrous has denied all of the accusations on his client's behalf and said he was not authorized to sign off on overtime.
Maddrey has claimed he was in a 'consensual, adult' relationship with Epps and denied there was any coercion.
But
Epps' lawyer hit back, saying, 'This clown is a f**king disgrace. We
have a treasure trove of digital data that will hopefully bring this
degenerate to justice.'

Sounds to me like the new top cop is taking care of business, kicking ass and taking names. She might not know a lot about being a cop but she knows how to manage personnel. That is not nothing.
Well, Well. New York's Finest (What a joke.) If you want a real Internal Affairs Unit then hire them from outside. Not someone who came up through the ranks with the offenders they will investigate.
