TEXAS AND FLORIDA MUCH SAFER THAN CALIFORNIA

If Texas Gov. Rick Perry ever tried to pull a boner like California Gov. Moonbeam’s realignment, the Texas sheriffs would get together a posse to ride ‘ole Rick out of Austin on a rail all the way to California. And let’s not overlook the fact that California is an anti-gun state while Texas and Florida are both strong pro-gun states. No realignment and more guns make Texas and Florida much safer than California.

CALIFORNIA IS A DANGEROUS PLACE

There was a very interesting article in the Fresno BEE yesterday. It analyzes crime statistics. These stats show a varied result for the Fresno area, but do tend to indicate that the serious, violent crime rate is about 2 1/2 times greater in California than in Texas, and about 7 times greater in California than in Florida. Texas and Florida had higher rates of incarceration and neither has implemented sentencing reforms such as the realignment in California.

The report compares early 2011 with early 2012 for cities with populations of larger than 100,000.

I guess that realignment thing maybe isn’t working so hot after all. Gee, what a surprise.
