PALESTINIANS MOURN LOSS OF CHAVEZ WHO WAS A STRONG OPPONENT OF ISRAEL, A STRONG SUPPORTER OF HEZBOLLAH, AND COZY WITH IRAN’S MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD

With the death of Hugo Chavez, the Palestinians have lost a close ally in their conflict with Israel, one who not only hated Israel, but America as well. I suspect that the only reason Chavez supported the Palestinians was because of Israel’s close relationship with the United States.

PALESTINIANS MOURN DEATH OF HUGO CHAVEZ

Tuesday's announcement that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez had lost his battle with cancer was met with much sadness in the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories.

"Palestine [sic] says goodbye to a loyal friend," wrote senior Palestinian official Nabil Shaath, who hailed Chavez's long antagonism of Israel in service to Palestinian nationalistic ambitions.

Chavez was an outspoken opponent of the Jewish state on the international stage, and even went so far as to host Lebanon's Hezbollah terrorist militia with the aim of helping it target Jewish interests abroad.

The Palestinian Authority and the Venezuelan regime have something else in common, too - both claim that their deceased iconic leaders were poisoned by their enemies.

The Palestinians continue to maintain that Yasser Arafat's death in 2004 was the result of Israel poisoning the former arch-terrorist. Likewise, Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro insisted that Chavez's cancer was somehow deliberately inflicted by "the established enemies of our land."

"We have no doubt that Commandant Chavez was attacked with this illness, we have not a single doubt," stated Maduro as he announced his leader's passing.
