ANTISEMITE JEWISH SENATOR SUPPORTS ANTISEMITE MUSLIM CONGRESSWOMAN

Bernie Sanders telephoned Ilhan Omar to offer his support after she was roundly criticized for anti-Semitic remarks

I have long maintained that Bernie Sanders is an anti-Semitic Jew. He has often voted against the interests of Israel and expressed his support for the Palestinians. And now he has proven that I was absolutely right.

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Muslim, has repeatedly made ant-Semitic statements. I n 2012she said: “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” She is a supporter of the BDS movement which is designed to destroy Israel. Omar’s latest statement got the ire of the House when she suggested members of Congress support Israel because they are being paid to do so. When asked who was paying congress, she said AIPAC. The House reacted by passing a resolution condemning anti-Semitism.

To the rescue comes Bernie Sanders in support of Omar. He told Arab American Institute founder and antisemite James Zogby, “I talked to Ilhan last night to give her my personal support. We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

Sanders appears to be ashamed of his Jewishness. While I am not a religious Jew, I am proud of my Jewishness and I am thoroughly disgusted with and ashamed of Sanders.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, there is a significant percentage of the Jewish population that is anti-Zionist. The Satmar Hasidic sect, generally considered the most observant of the Jews, is stridently anti-Zionist. They burn the Israeli flag in Brooklyn on Purim. I personally strongly support Israel, but I do think it is possible to love the Jewish people who represent a beautiful religion, yet not support the movement of Zionism, which at its core is atheistic and nationalistic. Judaism is a religion. Zionism was founded by folks who were atheists. There are many quotes from Hertzl and other Zionists that are objectively anti-Semitic, including wanting to take the “jeweyness” out of the jew.

I agree that it is possible to be philo-Semitic and anti Israel. However, the overwhelming majority of the time, anti Israeli bias is nothing more than thinly veiled anti semitism
