GLADYS KNIGHT IS ONE CLASSY LADY

I haven't watched much football since some players started kneeling during the National Anthem. I didn't watch the Super Bowl this year.

I did see a replay of the National Anthem which was sung by Gladys Knight. Now folks, Gladys did a spectacular job. I have always enjoyed her music. Nobody could sing "That's What Friends are For", "The Way We Were" or "Midnight Train to Georgia" better that Gladys Knight. In some cases she performed songs better than the original artist.

After singing the National Anthem this year CNN reporter, Don Lemon asked Gladys if she was worried about her career for singing at the Super Bowl. Gladys Knight being the lady that she is replied, “For me, it’s just for me about respect,” I’m just hoping it will be about our country and how we treat each other and being the great country that we are.”

Don Lemon reminded Gladys that several entertainers had turned down Super Bowl performances such as Cardi B, Pink and Rihanna to bring attention to police brutality, racial inequality and social justice.

Gladys Knight wasn't fazed by what other performers do or believe. She replied, "You do have to stand up for what is right and what is right for others," Knight said. "I just want them to know that we have a country that's worth standing up for. Nothing good comes easy and I would hope that they will understand as I do that we have a better way to do this than to be all angry."

I couldn't have said it better myself. Gladys Knight, Thank you.

That's the way I see it.
