Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Friday that she and her team needed to use the bathroom but were denied access to the Village of Broadview Municipal Building, located about 12 miles west of downtown Chicago
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was denied accessing the bathroom of a public building while arresting illegal immigrants.
Noem and a group of DHS and Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) agents were in the Chicago area on Friday conducting migrant operations.
The secretary and her crew were filmed conducting arrests in a Walmart parking lot when leftist protestors attempted to intervene, video posted by conservative commentator Benny Johnson shows.
Johnson was seen in a green bullet proof vest that read 'Border Patrol' and 'Federal Agent' despite not being a government official.
After the migrants, and some protestors, were arrested, Noem and her crew attempted to enter the Chicago suburb Broadview Municipal Building.
Unfortunately for the 53-year-old secretary and her officers, who needed to use the public building's restrooms, employees barred the doors and denied her entry.
'Can we use your restrooms,' one official asks a man holding the doors closed at the city hall building.
'No you cannot,' he shoots back at the secretary and her posse. The guard then asks them to not crowd the door, effectively telling them to leave.

'We can't?' Noem says, stunned by the man's refusal. 'Ok, alright. Thank you. Interesting,' she says plainly before turning away and leaving.
'We were coming to go out and do some operations to pick up some guys with criminal convictions on them and the city police wouldn't even let us use the restroom,' she told Johnson.
Later she took to social media to further explain the situation.
'My team and I were just blocked from accessing the Village of Broadview Municipal Building in Illinois. We were stopping for a quick bathroom break. This is a public building. The Village of Broadview receives at least $1 million in federal funding every year.'
She used the encounter to slam Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.
The governor similarly took to social media to scorch return fire at the secretary.
'Federal agents reporting to Secretary Noem have spent weeks snatching up families, scaring law-abiding residents, violating due process rights, and even detaining U.S. citizens,' Pritzker posted on X Friday morning. 'They fail to focus on violent criminals and instead create panic in our communities.'
'Secretary Noem should no longer be able to step foot inside the State of Illinois without any form of public accountability,' he continued. 'Illinois is not a photo opportunity or warzone, it's a sovereign state where our people deserve rights, respect, and answers.'

At least five protestors were arrested at an ICE facility in the Chicago area on Friday

During the stint, at least five people were arrested for resisting arrest, obstruction and aggravated battery of a police officer, according to local reports.
Noem and Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino were in the area to monitor clashes that occurred outside of the ICE office in Broadview.
Protestors at the stand-off were demanding transparency about possible safety infractions and unlawful detentions at the federal facility.
It is unclear how many illegal migrants were arrested in the operation.
