R. Lee Ermey, the former Marine Corps drill instructor who starred in the award winning film Full Metal Jacket and became an accomplished movie actor, blasted the president’s ‘socialism’ at a Toys 4 Tots charity event in Chicago on December 10. While I do not personally believe that Obama is trying to ‘impose socialism on us,’ it is good to see that Ermey is part of a small but growing group of Hollywood celebrities that is fed up with the Obama administration’s policies.
After saluting the Marine Corps for it’s 235-year history of defending the United States, Ermey had this to say:
“We’re having a big problem this year. The economy really sucks. Now I hate to point fingers at anybody, but the present administration probably had a lot to do with that. And the way I see it, they’re not going to quit doing it until they bring this country to its knees. So I think we should all rise up and we should stop this administration from what they’re doing because they’re destroying this country. They’re driving us into bankruptcy so that they can impose socialism on us and that’s exactly what they’re doing. And I’m sick and damn tired of it, and I know you are too. But I know that the Marine Corps will be here forever; this administration won’t. Semper Fi.”

I have to agree with Sgt Ermey.
From Wikipidia"
"Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources."
That's what's behind Obamacare, the Federal bail out (with strings attached), of our auto industry, banks, and investment firms, and that's the reason for the global warming hoax and those phoney carbon credits.
The US government has been steadly erroding the free market system in this country for the last couple of decades, picked up steam under George Bush, and is now at full gallop now under Barrak Obama.
The teaparty movement is our last best hope to turn this around. Let's hope the newbies in congress aren't corrupted by the good old boys in Washington.
Centurion, I see that it is way past midnight. You must have had a few too many celebrating New3 Year's Eve. I haven't had a drop to drink myself.
As a supporter of free enterprise, I do not see us as having come anywhere near meeting the definition of socialism that you cite. Whatever control the government assumed over those bailed out financial institutions and industries was only temporary and Uncle Sam never actually ran those banks and auto companies.
I suspect you ae referring to government regulations when you talk about eroding the free market. Those regulations were passed to protect you and me from the cheating and excesses of greed that have hurt the middle class.
After a good night's rest, a cold shower and lots of tomato juice and black coffe, I'm sure you'll feel better. Happy New Year!
I feel fine Howie.
Just not sure that I like the price for that "protection."
Happy New Year
