Here is another heartwarming Christmas story.
After a reported robbery in Harris County, the Magnolia, Texas police stopped a white Chevy Impala that fit the description of a car used in trying to stuff Christmas stockings with someone else’s money. After they pulled the driver out of the car, his passenger slid over and took off with the cops in hot pursuit. The Sunday afternoon chase lasted a little less than five minutes before the driver crashed trying to avoid a spike strip that had been laid across the highway by Texas DPS troopers.
When the troopers approached the crushed upside-down car, they heard the cries of a baby. They discovered a three-month-old girl dangling upside down in an infant’s car seat that was still strapped securely to the back seat. The troopers kicked out the windows, cut the car seat out and had the baby life-flighted to a Houston trauma center. The baby is expected to be OK.
The original driver is the baby’s father. Investigators are still trying to determine if he was involved in the reported robbery.
What about the dickhead who took off in the Impala? Derick McMichael, 33, died at the scene of the crash. Ho Ho Ho.
