DARREN WILSON AWAITING A LYNCHING

The black community will accept nothing less than the immediate arrest of Darren Wilson and his indictment on murder charges

On Tuesday’s NBC Today, Matt Lauer interviewed Michael Brown’s parents and their attorney Benjamin Crump. Both parents were adamant that there will be no justice for their son until Darren Wilson is arrested and tried for murder. Neither one called for an end to the protests, including the rioting. No ‘can’t we all just get along’ Rodney King-moment.

For the last several days protestors have been shouting for the arrest of Officer Wilson, and in interviews with the media, they have made it quite clear that they will continue with their protests until that happens.

Reports are that the 40 FBI agents on the ground, and investigators from the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office, have interviewed at least 200 individuals. Reportedly, some of those talking to the FBI had refused to talk to local authorities. I usually don’t take Rush Limbaugh seriously, but on Tuesday he pointed out that there were far fewer FBI agents investigating the Benghazi case and he claimed that there were no agents investigating the IRS vendetta against the Tea Party.

To the black community, Michael Brown remains a ‘Gentle Giant’ who was murdered in cold blood on the eve of attending college. Blacks have brushed off the convenience store robbery and the toxicology tests showing Brown had pot in his system like anyone would brush off a fly that landed on his arm. They are incensed by those allegations, seeing them as nothing more than character assassination. And the fact that Brown was shot six times is proof to them that Wilson committed murder.

I’ll bet the FBI Agents have found a shitload of people who claim to have witnessed the shooting and will swear that Wilson shot Brown down in cold blood after he raised his hands in surrender.

Now comes a claim that there are a dozen witnesses who will confirm Wilson’s version of the shooting. On Monday, St. Louis Post-Dispatch crime reporter Christine Byers tweeted:

Police sources tell me more than a dozen witnesses have corroborated cop’s version of events in shooting Ferguson.

Rush and other right-wing personalities have made a big deal out of that tweet, with some referring to it as a ‘bombshell.’ However, since the source of this claim is coming from the hated Ferguson and St. Louis County police departments, that is not going to impress the protesters. And there is always the chance that the witnesses dug up by the police departments are no more reliable than those dug up by the FBI.

On orders of President Obama, Eric Holder will be in Ferguson on Wednesday to meet with the FBI agents and with community leaders. On Monday, Holder released the following statement:

The selective release of sensitive information that we have seen in this case so far is troubling to me. No matter how others pursue their own separate inquiries, the Justice Department is resolved to preserve the integrity of its investigation. This is a critical step in restoring trust between law enforcement and the community, not just in Ferguson, but beyond.

Nicely put, but I do not trust the Justice Department and the FBI to conduct a fair and impartial investigation in this particular case. It is noteworthy from his statement that Holder is clearly upset with the release of the convenience store robbery video and the marijuana toxicology test results. While the Feds cannot charge Wilson with murder, they can charge him with violating Michael Brown’s civil rights, and you can bet they will do that.

Any rational person would find it hard to fathom that a white officer working in a predominantly black community, who has had no complaints filed against him during the four years he has been there, would shoot an unarmed black man six times if he were not in imminent fear of life and limb. Under such circumstances an officer is justified in firing his gun multiple times until the threat to life and limb has been eliminated. Overlooked in the hullabaloo is the fact that Officer Wilson suffered facial injuries during his confrontation with Brown.

With all the investigations and autopsies going on, and with the incessant demands for an arrest, indictment and prosecution, it sure looks like Darren Wilson is awaiting a lynching. ‘kl2008a’ was right when he said, “Sorry to say it, but Officer Wilson is toast.”

I still have some minimal hope that the Grand Jury or the trial jury if it comes to that will make their decision based on actual evidence. I have little hope that the feds will do so and I would make a modest bet that they will pursue him to the ends of the earth regardless of the outcome of local proceedings and regardless of the actual facts of the case.
