FERGUSON STILL COOKING

They cancelled the curfew in Ferguson Monday night, due to the arrival of the National Guard on scene. Last night there were a couple of dozen arrests (largest number I have seen reported was 31) and two people shot, none by the cops.

The media seems to be blaming the cops and the national guard simply for being there. There is also some (damn little) commentary about the New Black Panthers, who are there from Oakland, leading chants of Kill The Cops for the locals. It would seem that there is a small but significant number of people who are primarily interested in looting, burning and raising hell and are using the death of Brown as a justification to act out.

Also the Justice Brothers, Al and Jesse, are still stirring the pot. Among other things Jesse referred to the death of Brown as a state sponsored execution, while in possession of zero facts to support this inflammatory accusation. And much of the media and many of our political ruling class are giving him a pass on it.

Maybe the looting and burning will subside when everything in town is either stolen or burned down. Then they will demand that FEMA come in and build them new houses and stores and complain if they don’t.

The whole mess just sickens me. I can understand the rage behind the “NO JUSTICE NO PEACE” sloganeering from those who are truly aggrieved. It would, however, be nice if they wait for a few actual FACTS before they get completely stupid.
