Wednesday
was the deadline for the petitions for the recall of the God-Emperor of
the formerly great state of California, Gavin Newsom. The recall
proponents turned in slightly more than 2 million signatures. They need
not quite 1.5 million valid signatures and they have been running about
85% valid signatures. Unless some major "adjustments" occur the matter
will be going to the ballot.
That
counties have about six weeks to validate the signatures. Then the
governor has to schedule a special election. His is sniveling about
that big time as it will not be cheap. It will cost about twice what
the state spends to defend criminal illegal aliens against federal
deportation actions. That is about $50 million.
Back
in 2003 there were over80 people on the recall replacement ballot if I
recall correctly. There are already several Republicans who have said
they are running. No Democrats have jumped in (yet), apparently
thinking it will appear to be disloyal.
Don't worry. They will get over it. Politicians for the most part have no loyalty.
