The
parents of Kristin Smart have filed a lawsuit against Ruben Flores, 80,
the father of the man police believe killed their daughter 25 years
ago. Right now it is believed that Ruben Flores helped his son, Paul
Flores, hide the body of Kristin 25 years ago after Paul raped and
murdered her.
Based on
"biological evidence" recovered at the scene the cops think that
Kristin's body was at one time buried under the deck of the Flores home
in Arroyo Grande, near the college, Cal Poly, that both she and Paul
attended. They believe that once the cops started seriously looking at
the Flores property again a bit more than a year ago that Flores dug up
and moved the body again. (Too bad they couldn't have kept him under
surveillance.)
The civil suit seeks unspecified damages for infliction of emotional distress.
The
father is currently out on $50,000 bail on charges of accessory after
the fact. The son is still a guest of San Luis Obispo County, being
held without bail on a murder beef.
